Summer resorts in Minnesota often book up fast. As a listing website, we get all kinds of emails asking us to help people find last minute availability. We try our hardest but most people, once going to a resort, book for the following year and start thinking about their vacation six months to nine months before. The Dickerson’s sure go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and even greet you with a warm plate of chocolate chip cookies. They have cabins for every family size and dynamic.

Kids love the jungle gym but the real stars around here are all the water toys such as the floating dock, paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, slide, sand box, tubes, sail boat and more. The level beach is perfect for those a little wobbly on their toes and parents can oversee the action in a chaise lounge chair right on the beach or get in on the action themselves. Kids often fish right off the dock where they can catch plenty of sunnies or crappies. This lodge also has plenty of boat rentals if you want to cruise around the lake or fish for muskies. There is a fish cleaning house located right on the resort!

Bob and Connie are always doing something! Sunday mornings, wake up and smell the coffee, literally. Freshly brewed coffee and fresh homemade donuts and juice are available! Also enjoy Pizza delight on Mondays night and Thursdays, Bob drives the hayride all around the resort for the kiddos.

The Spicer area is a wonderful area and is part of the Willmar Lakes area. There are so many lakes to choose from. We may be biased a little but the clean and beautiful Lake Florida is our favorite. Among other lakes are Green Lake, Nest, Norway and Long Lake. It’s just about the shimmering waters though, this area also hosts lots of events, cruises, and shows along with lots of restaurants and shopping. Enjoy a murder mystery dinner, a house boat cruise, a dinner cruise, race around the track at big Kahuna Park, or catch a show from the Little Crow Ski team or watch a flick at the Spicer Cinema.

  8. The Heartland Trail and the Paul Bunyan Trail are well known to be some of the best maintained and well thought out trails and they located adjacent to the cottage. It offers hiking or biking. And, in the winter, extraordinary snowmobiling.

A no fail trip to the #Catskills is more than just possible

Sullivan County is not just any ordinary county in New York. It is a diverse landscape with loads of activities for the family. The Monticello Raceway is another great place for adult fun at the track. Watch the horses compete around the track or play a hand of blackjack at the casino.

Golfing in the Catskills is some of the finest and you have a large selection of courses to choose from. The scenery cannot be unmatched. We suggest the Lochmore for the experienced golfer or the Villa Roma Country club for great views with a course in always fantastic condition.

This river is clear all the way to the bottom and is a Class 1 brown and rainbow trout fishing stream. This 31 mile river is one of the only natural producing trout streams in the state of Wisconsin. Brainerd, MN – An Outdoor Mecca for Reel Livin’

Brainerd, MN may be a mecca for outdoor recreation, however have we really seen everything that Brainerd may have to offer? You can bike, hike, snowmobile, race, fish, swim, and much more!

Let’s just dive into it and what we mean by that is, diving with the Minnesota School of Diving in the Cuyuna Country State Recreation area. This school offers lots of different activities. One that stuck out to me is what they call all appropriately a Fun Dive. Fun Dives are offered throughout the season. These dives consist of underwater diving in different depths and sites – great for beginners and experts. Fun Dives also include a BBQ with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, etc. Spend the day on Minnesota lakes!

Diving isn’t the only thing you can do in the Cuyuna Country State Recreation area. This area has ample opportunities to go out and enjoy what you love to do. Thirty years ago this area was abandoned by the mining companies. With the neglect of these companies and the clean-up effort of the DNR, this area now boasts over 25 miles of sandy shoreline that kiss clear, pristine waters.

Looking for more noise and excitement? Brainerd is home to the “World Fastest Drag Strip” at the Brainerd International Speedway. This speedway has three world class race strips and also offers driving courses for all kinds of enthusiasts and also features racing for snowmobiles and motocross. One of the favorite events here is Lake Jams, in June. This is where you take the naturally beautiful backdrop of the Brainerd area and combine with the music industry hot shots such as REO Speedwagon, Bret Michaels, Clay Walker and Maggie Rose. Exploring the Paul Bunyan State trail is ranked as one of the best things to do in Brainerd — 120 miles of paved recreation heaven for the adventurist.
