If lake time is your love language, this Rhinelander cabin speaks it fluently. Hoppe’s Haven sits on a 5‑acre hardwood tract with 300 feet of private shoreline on 600‑acre Crescent Lake and a hard, sandy-bottom swim area with a raft—a rare combo Cabintimers rave about. Add in your own private dock, lakeside fire pit, and an aluminum fishing boat, and you’ve got a Northwoods base where the water is the main event and the sunsets do their thing every evening.

What makes this cabin special

Swimmable shoreline steps from the door. Walk-in, sandy-bottom water that’s perfect for little swimmers and low‑key float sessions. That raft? It’ll get plenty of use.

Anglers’ playground. Crescent Lake is clear, deep, and stocked with opportunities—musky, walleye, northern, bass, and panfish. There’s a fish cleaning station back on shore and a private dock for your boat (or the on‑site rental motor).

Wallet‑friendly weeklong stays. This is one of the most affordable waterfront vacation homes in the Northwoods. Book direct to keep more of your budget for bait, ice cream runs, and a Hodag hoodie.

Inside the cabin

The vibe is unfussy and comfortable—everything you need for a full‑week lake fix. A furnished kitchen (stove/oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker) keeps breakfasts easy and fish‑fry nights fun. Linens are provided, and the enclosed porch doubles as extra sleeping space and a hangout for late‑night card games. After sunset, head for the fire ring or catch a game or movie with satellite/cable.

Outside is the star

Morning coffee on the deck. Midday swims off the sandy shoreline. Paddle or putter along the shoreline, then grill out and swap fish tales around the fire. Boat and trailer parking makes arrival simple, and you’re close to town when it’s time to restock.

Close to everything Cabintimers love

Rhinelander eats & traditions. This is supper club country—come hungry for Friday night fish fry. Pubs are friendly and portions generous.

Trails for days. Hike or bike the scenic Bearskin State Trail, a historic 18‑mile route that crosses lakes and wetlands between downtown Minocqua and Harshaw. Mountain biking, horseback riding, and ATV/UTV routes are nearby, plus snowmobile trails when the flakes fly.

Golf with Northwoods character. Play the area’s standout courses; crisp air, tall pines, and rolling greens make every round feel like a little victory lap.

Easy arrivals. Flying in? You’re close to the Rhinelander–Oneida County Airport, so meeting the crew at the cabin is a breeze.

Why Cabintimers Love Merry Dale

The beach gets sun all day thanks to southern exposure, so swimming is easy and warm. The gradual entry is great for little legs. Between dips, kids sprint back to a big park-style playground and open green space. Every cabin includes a 14′ aluminum boat, with kayaks and a canoe ready on shore; add a motor or ask about pontoon rentals if you want a longer cruise. Anglers find panfish, walleye, bass, northern pike, and musky right on Lake George. Come any season—the resort is open year-round for summer swims, fall color, winter trail rides, and spring fishing.

On the trails: Rhinelander and Oneida County serve up hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails. When the snow flies, start right from the resort area and roam deep into the Northwoods.

Easy kid wins: Beach time, hot chocolate by the fire, then playground time. Repeat.

Nearby Things To Do (Rhinelander & beyond)

Hodag Park — Picnic by the water, catch a community concert, or watch a sunset over Boom Lake.

Rhinelander Brewing Company — Order a flight, grab merch, and toast the Northwoods.

Pioneer Park Historical Complex — Explore Northwoods logging history and local lore with the kids.

Chequamegon–Nicolet National Forest — Hike mellow loops, look for wildlife, or snowshoe after fresh snowfall.

Hodag Country Festival (July) — A summer staple for live country music fans. Plan early if your dates overlap.

Tips for Cabintimers

Bring properly sized life jackets for everyone. Wisconsin requires wearable PFDs for all watercraft. Launch early or later in the day for prime fishing and calm paddling; midday is made for the beach. Visiting in shoulder seasons? Ask about pet-friendly stays and the latest snowmobile trail updates.

Whether you’re planning a fishing trip, a family vacation, or a quiet escape with your favorite book, the perfect cabin or cottage is waiting for you. But here’s the thing—how you book your stay can make just as big of a difference as where you stay.

At RentWisconsinCabins.com, you can explore hundreds of verified lakefront rentals across Wisconsin without worrying about extra booking site fees. Why Wisconsin Lakefront Rentals Are So Popular

Wisconsin is home to thousands of lakes, from the vast and well-known Lake Winnebago to the quiet, hidden gems in the Northwoods. Each lake offers a different kind of adventure—clear waters for swimming, sandy shores for kids to play, and excellent fishing for walleye, bass, and musky.

Lakefront rentals here offer front-row seats to all of it. Imagine waking up and stepping right outside to your private dock or enjoying coffee on the deck with nothing but the sound of loons calling across the water. These cabins and cottages are more than just places to stay—they are part of the experience.

Lakefront Rental Wisconsin: Top Activities

A Wisconsin lakefront rental is a launchpad for endless outdoor fun:

  • Fishing: Cast right from the dock or rent a boat for a full day of chasing trophy fish.
  • Kayaking and Paddleboarding: Explore hidden coves and enjoy the lake at your own pace.
  • Swimming: Many lakefront properties offer sandy-bottom shorelines that are perfect for family swimming.
  • Bonfires and Stargazing: Evenings on the lake are made for roasting marshmallows and watching the sky light up with stars.
