Head South to Carolina Beach
Cabintimers looking for a beach town with a little more old-school vacation personality can point the car toward Carolina Beach.
The Carolina Beach Boardwalk is a centerpiece of the town, with food, treats, shops, seasonal entertainment, and ocean views. Nearby, Carolina Beach State Park offers a completely different experience with maritime forest, trails, waterways, and opportunities to see native coastal plants.
It makes for an easy day with two sides to it: spend part of your time around the boardwalk and ocean, then trade the crowds for a walk through the state park.
